Central Coquitlam


The neighbourhood of Central Coquitlam is part of the city of Coquitlam, British Columbia, which is located in the Greater Vancouver metropolitan area.

It is directly in the middle of Coquitlam’s 2 skytrain hubs – Lougheed Station and Coquitlam station. The majority of busses that run through Central Coquitlam with have direct access to both stations.

Coquitlam is a suburban community in the Lower Mainland, east of Vancouver. Housing in Coquitlam ranges from post war bungalows to luxury houses to mixed-use retail & residential condominium towers. Strong communities, a feeling of space and continuing development make Coquitlam a vibrant and growing city. The Evergreen Extension SkyTrain line provides efficient transit west to Burnaby, Vancouver and to points south, adding to transit options provided by the West Coast Express passenger rail service.

It is an area with a wide range of choices, from condos to townhouses to detached homes of all sizes. The majority of the homes in Central Coquitlam are on flat lots, and have easy access to busses and transportation.

There are a variety of schools within Central Coquitlam, as well as a number of amenities and activities. One to highlight is the Poirier Sports Complex which is a new multi-recreational facility for swimming, figure skating, hockey, curling, and lacrosse as well as a community gym. In the area there is also a library branch, a tennis complex, a regularly hosted weekend farmer’s market, and the Dogwood Pavilion community center.
